Iliana’s Story

What becomes of the ones like you who have no means of escaping?

What if we can adopt a village of 100 poor families called El Chico located in Champerico, Retalhuleu, where children suffer from many illnesses ~ mostly stemming from malnutrition. No running water, little sanitation; they don’t even know to ask for more. What if?

My name is Iliana Lopez. Guatemala is my birth place. Guatemala is a third world country where violence and poverty are the norm. I moved here to the U.S. at 15 years old, finding a much better life and a wealth of opportunities. What I left behind was the place where my father was kidnapped, tortured, and killed when I was only 6 years old… and the place where I was sexually, physically, and verbally abused for most of my childhood by a demented person.

I escaped but others remain. I never thought I would be writing about this…or asking for help for a country that, FOR YEARS, I felt that I hated so very much! But, what if we can adopt one town at a time? A town like mine where we can help them improve their healthcare, get safe and running water, a stable food supply? What if you make a commitment like I did to
escape, make a better life and then give back?

YuliThe mission of Yuli’s Paradise is “to improve the living environment for the families with an emphasis on the elderly and children who are or have suffered from violence and/or abuse. Consequently, our success will serve as a prevention for some and a regulator for others, removing them from such detrimental situations much sooner. We are passionate about providing these attributes which will also include clothing, medicine, medical treatment (via volunteers of some medical doctors), and food. Our overall mission is to eventually become worldwide, but our initial mission is to begin with Guatemala.”

Please join us in support of Yuli’s Paradise, Inc. to better El Chico and fulfill our mission to improve the lives of the Guatemalan people.
